5 Lessons I Learned In 2015 That Allowed Me to 10x My Side Income to Six-Figure Full-Time Business

In 2014 I was juggling a couple of side projects and I wasn't making the money I wanted from my businesses. I was relying on the steady stream income from a low paying college job and the small side income I had - yuck!

In 2015 things changed and I became a six-figure business owner.

Today I wanted to share with you five major lessons that I learned that allowed me to take it to the next (10x) level in my business.

Behind The Scenes of a Multi-Five-Figure Launch

Behind The Scenes of a Multi-Five-Figure Launch

Today, I wanted to talk to you a little about the launch that I just completed for Rock Your FB Ads that closed over $22,000 in sales.

A $22,000 launch seems really glamorous. But, I want to talk to you today about some of the behind the scenes work that really goes into a launch of this caliber. The things you might not hear, see, or talk about... I want to give you the dirty deets.

Note to Self: You Suck!

Come on Zach, I told myself.  How is it that  you had an entire 3 weeks to launch a site, design a program, and do a product launch and yet you didn't make tens of thousands of dollars? I was being a horrible to me...

People around you are already showering you with compliments about how much you're doing.  They tell you about how amazing it is that you have an online business, or how they wish they could do what you're doing, and yet somehow we feel like the opposite of "successful" at times.

In the midst of our pure epic awesomeness, we find a way to say, "yeah but..."  After several years online, I've have decided that yeah but is a dream crusher.  It says, I've done great things, but I'm not focused on that!

Let me share with you a few things I did in the course of 7 days:

  • Took a new mailing list from 0 to 400 subscribers
  • Made money selling a new course which more then paid for its advertising
  • Created and published an opt-in for my site
  • Designed and launched a new course, sales page, and sales funnel

Lots of people told me things like, "I wish I had those results" and "dude great hustle, that amazing." It's awesome to hear people saying how much you've achieve but I still had a case of the, yeah buts.

I found myself thinking, yeah it's great that I did all of that in a week but I didn't hit my 5-figure goal.

Dammit man! In 7 days you had the courage and the drive to do things that people will spend months and YEARS thinking about doing (I should have to myself).

It doesn't really matter what I achieved because this post isn't about me - it's about you.

Do you think you suck?  I mean, does the tape that is playing in your head 24/7 pay you compliments and let you admit to how freakin' epic you are?

You're already doing epic stuff!  Have you set up a WordPress Blog, 80% of people talk about doing it and never do!  Did you email the "only" 5 people on your list, kudos because 90% of people never start a list...

We think that since "everyone" started a WordPress that our's doesn't matter WRONG!

Online business is unique because we find ourselves surrounded by greatness with a low barrier of entry. Websites, Podcasts, Video Blogs - they all make it seem like the only people online are millionaires - but they aren't.

You are a small fish in the sea.  But the ocean is a delicate eco system, and we need you.  Someone out there needs your product, experience or expertise - no if, ands or yeah buts about it.

Bottom line - you don't suck.

YES!  Time to exhale a sigh of relief.

Stop deflecting compliments, stop thinking you aren't good enough.  Embrace the epic things you've done and smile as you realize it's the first few steps in an amazing journey.

Just don't get a big head.

So tell me in the comments below, what is something EPIC you have done recently?

I want to hear from you What yeah but are you going to remove from your life, TODAY?

Young & Hungry - The Passionate Bootstrapper

Passionate Bootstrapper

You gotta spend money to make money, right?

As you're starting your online business, you think - "I'll get a domain name and the rest is smooth sailing." You get your domain up and running aaaaaannnd the laundry list starts.  You realize to really blow this shiz up you need:

  • An Autoresponder Service
  • A Way to Capture Emails - Like LeadPages
  • A WordPress Theme to Make People Jealous
  • A Good Microphone to Record Audio
  • A Nice Webcam to Support Video
  • A Generous Benefactor to Fund Your Every Needs

It can feel really easy to think that you can't "afford" to break into online business, but I will tell you from first hand experience that it's more than possible - it happens every day!

If you want to succeed online you have to adapt a new personality. I like to refer to this new personality type as, The Passionate Bootstrapper.

The Passionate Bootstrapper doesn't say, "I can't afford this".  Rather they say, "I will figure out a way to buy this, earn this, or otherwise make it happen!"

YOU are a Passionate Bootstrapper:

You don't have a trust fund with your name on it, but you're willing to spend a little bit of money to get things moving in your business.  It doesn't seem like you've got enough money to "coast" forever, but you have such a strong conviction in your dreams you keep going.

There is something that makes you unique.  You you may be afraid to fail - but you're more afraid you never reach your potential,.  You silence both of these fears  with hard work, focus, and hustle.

When your business needs something and you find a way to make it work. When you need to buy something you hustle to get the money, you leverage what you know, and you utilize your network.  The bottom line is: you make it happen!

If you're not already a Passionate Bootstrapper, you can BECOME one!

Are you ready to become the person who hears, "No you can't!" So you turn around and say "Watch me!" If you're ready to make it happen - here's the key qualities you need to "turn on":

  • When you see the cost of something that will improve your life or your business, and you can't afford it say, "I know I can make that money," or "What can I do right now to bring that money in?"
  • Create a clear vision of where you want to be in a a week, a month, and a year.  Use your time and money on things that get you there.
  • Learn the importance of asking for help.  Whether it's paying someone $20 to make your PDFs look nice, or asking a friend out to dinner to get much need rest and relaxation.  When you're working, work hard - but you have to learn that you can't do everything and know when to ask for help!
  • Be willing to sacrifice television, some sleep, and a few luxuries from time to time to achieve your dreams - but never so much so that you are unhappy with the pursuit of your dreams!

Money can buy a lot of things - but you can achieve anything you want in this world if you fuel your dreams with passion, throw in a strong vision of what you want, and make it happen bit of hustle!

Now get out there and make shit happen.
